Who needs this qualification?
Anyone who needs a basic understanding of environmental issues within the workplace. It provides a general awareness of environmental issues and can be taken by employees at all levels in the organisation.
The NEBOSH Environmental Awareness at Work qualification is designed to cover a range of issues affecting the global environment.
Topics include:
- Basic Environmental terms and their meaning
- Sources, impacts and controls of air, water, noise and land pollution
- Dealing with environmental emergencies
- Dealing with environmental impact (risk) assessments
- Introducing environmental Management Systems
Outcomes: On completing this qualification candidates will be able to:
- identify, define and explain relevant environmental issues
- identify, define and explain the aspects and effects of business activity on the environment
- understand simple measures that can be implemented to reduce the impact business activity can have on the environment
- understand the business and community benefits of environmental management
- understand the principles and importance of environmental legislation and the authorities responsible for the its enforcement
Assessment: Multiple-choice exam
This course is CITB approved and grant aid may be available for those companies registered with CITB or Invest Northern Ireland.
