Overview: This is a one day course designed for those delegates who have already completed the full Managing Safely Course. It aims to refresh aspects from the original course and further enhance the delegates’ knowledge and skills beyond those covered on the original course.
The Objectives: On Completion of the course, delegates will be able to:
- understand the role of risk assessment within the safety management team
- outline the main requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- outline the techniques required for accident investigation and the human behaviours involved
- identify workplace hazards and the hierarchies of controls
- prepare active monitoring checklists and use them in carrying out monitoring and reviews in the workplace
- explain the purpose of a health and safety audit.
Content: The course is arranged into 9 modules and provides an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to contribute to an effective health and safety management system
