It focuses on UK law and environmental management systems. It also provides a sound basis for progression on to the NEBOSH National Diploma in Environmental management. The NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management consists of two units – each separately assessed:
Unit EC1 is a taught unit assessed by a two-hour written examination.
Unit EC2 requires the candidate to carry out an environmental review of a workplace or organisation and produce a justified action plan to improve performance. This practical application must normally be completed and returned to the Course Provider by a date determined by them and normally within 14 days of the written examination. The practical application is internally assessed by the course provider and externally moderated by NEBOSH.
Assessment: EC1 is assessed by written examination and the EC2 by practical examination.
