Abrasive Wheels Training

This half day Abrasive Wheels training course will provide you with an introduction to abrasive wheel safety. You will be able to assess the risks of using abrasive wheels and prevent yourself and others from injury.
Course Content
- Legislation and guidance applicable to abrasive wheels
- Common hazards associated with abrasive wheels
- Mechanical hazards – contact, breakage, ejection and entanglement
- Non-mechanical hazards – vibration, noise, dust, electricity
- Selecting and handling abrasive wheels
- Operating speeds
- Restrictions on use
- Mounting a wheel, both new and used
- Handling and storage
- Safe use of abrasive wheels
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protective equipment (RPE)
