Nebosh Environmental Awareness is a 1 Day course, followed by a multi-choice test.

Overview: Now more than ever businesses need to take environmental issues seriously.  Not just for the health of the planet, but also the well being of their enterprise.  Environmental performance is increasingly a factor in tendering requirements and also in the considerations of lenders and insurers.  Businesses that can demonstrate environmental commitment attract positive publicity, stakeholder goodwill and favorable credit from financiers.

Who needs this qualification?

Anyone who needs a basic understanding of environmental issues within the workplace. Therefore providing general awareness of environmental issues and can be taken by employees at all levels in the organisation.

The NEBOSH Environmental Awareness at Work qualification is designed to cover a range of issues affecting the global environment, such as;

• Basic Environmental terms and their meaning
• Sources, impacts, and controls of air, water, noise, and land pollution
• Dealing with environmental emergencies
• Dealing with environmental impact (risk) assessments
• Introducing Environmental Management Systems  

Outcomes: On completing this qualification candidates will have an understanding of the following:

• identify, define and explain relevant environmental issues
• understand simple measures that can be implemented to reduce the impact business activity can have on the environment
• identify, define and explain the aspects and effects of business activity on the environment
• understand the business and community benefits of environmental management
• understand the principles and importance of environmental legislation and the authorities responsible for its enforcement

Assessment is by a Multiple-choice exam.
